It is interesting because whilst it was created out of the need to obtain concensus, it's never really happened now has it.
As long as there are several different organized religions claiming their church is the one true church, it's all a big fat moot point and concensus will never be reached.
Perhaps it's my pessimism showing but I don't think there will ever be a true unity of belief through all of Christiandom. Not in my lifetime anyhow.
that's why i find it soo interesting..and everyone was taking out/putting in documents to fit their idea of how/what/when/where ppl should worship. and it's amazing that masses of ppl just blindly go ahead and follow without questioning the very origin of what they so staunchly believe.
